Halifax Go School is committed to youth Go education, aiming to promote Go in Nova Scotia, increase the popularity of Go, and train young Go lovers. This rating tournament will be in accordance with the Canadian Go Association rule.

1D or above players will be collecting winning points in order to upgrade their level (the points will be calculated by CGA system)Ø
If you are unsure about your child’s rank, please ask your current Go teacher. If you already have Go Rank Certificate, please register based on that.Ø
25K-24K division will use 13 x 13 board, 23K-1K division will use 19x19 board to play.Ø
25K beginner level will win at least 1 games out of 5 will get a certificate of 25K.Ø
If there are not enough players, the Tournament Organizer will arrange the pairing manually and post it during the matches.Ø
If there are not enough players in the same group, and the participants level differs from each other greatly; a handicap will be decided by the Canadian Go Association and the organizer for the match to be effective. The following chart shows the handicaps will apply for each level.Ø

The participant should not quit the tournament in the middle of the day. All players need to complete five rounds of matches. If the player gets sick or encounters emergency situations during the tournament and has to leave, the player will not be raised to their proposed level even with enough wins. Ø
