The 7th Annual California State Go Championship is hosted by the San Diego Go Club with both an Open & Handicap Section. California residency, which includes students, is required to win the California Resident Open Winner title, and will recieve a dedicated minimum of $100. A separate prize pool for the overall tournament winner(s) in the Open will also be held. The Open Section is Limited to 20 seats this year. (As of 11/20/24 2:13pm: SOLD OUT! All 20 seats in the Open have been reserved! Players are more than welcomed to participate in the Handicap Section where there's plenty of space available! If you are serious about still wanting to compete in the Open, please reach out to the Tournament Director by email.) The Tournament Director will use discretion once max capacity for the Open is achieved. All are welcome to compete for other prizes.
Go professionals are allowed to play, and are eligible for the Overall Tournament Winner prize pool.

Players must register via "goclubs.org" by 11:59 pm Thursday, 11/28 to play in first round. The first 25 attendees to register will receive a blue ticket for priority line up for lunch on both days of the event! (11/13/24 Update: Priority blue tickets for the first 25 registrants have all been claimed! Don’t worry—everyone still enjoys the same delicious lunch, just in regular lineup order.)

On-site registration for rounds 2-5 allowed.
