The 2023 Chicago Open, organized by the Evanston Go Club, will be held over
Memorial Day Weekend, May 27-28. With
8 rounds over 2 days, we offer you the most intense tournament experience in the country. Come for the chance to play serious games and reunite with your go-playing friends!
Medals and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers of each division in the Main section, and up to 6th place for the Open section. First place overall wins the 2023 Chicago Open trophy and a cash prize of at least $600.

MealsPlayers may order breakfast, lunch, and dinner with us. Breakfast includes a pastry from Bennison's Bakery along with coffee, tea, fruits, and granola bars. Lunch on both days will be provided by Tealicious Bubble Tea and consist of a bento + drink. Dinner will be a Mediterranean buffet provided by Dengeos. Both lunch and dinner are vegetarian friendly.

Fischer time 10 min + 20s/move. All games are AGA-rated.
McMahon pairing for Main and Open sections.
Handicap: H-2 in Main section, even games in Open section.
Please note: In contrast to our previous events, this tournament will not be self-paired; each round will be paired by the tournament director and will start at the specified time. Clocks are required for every game, and the time settings are Fischer time 10 minutes basic time, 20 seconds per move.
