Eligible Participants The NYGHS Summer open will be open to anyone with membership with a national organization or anyone with a stable rank on a credible Go server. We do recognize however that official ranks/ratings may be outdated, so participants will be allowed to enter based on the rank they submit. There is a registration fee of $12. Format
The online tournament will take place over the course of two days (July 16th and July 23rd). It will be a 4 round Swiss style tournament with divisions of around size 10.  There will be 2 games played on the first day, and 2 games played on the second.

General Rules / Game Settings
All online games will be played in the NYGHS Tournament Room on KGS (it is under clubs). If you do not have KGS please download it at http://gokgs.com.

All games will be on 19x19 boards with AGA rules (7.5 komi). All games will be played with time control settings of 45 minutes main time and 3 periods of 30 second byo-yomi. The white and black players will be decided by KGS unless stated otherwise.

Handicaps: Except in the open division, games will have handicaps with a maximum of 6 stones given. Handicaps will be given by rank difference - 2 (E.g a 5k would give 4 stones to an 11k). There will be no handicaps in the open division.
